Rescue

Each year a number of Irish Setters are abandoned, left in pounds or turned in by owners to local rescue groups. These volunteer rescue groups are often sponsored by one of our ISCA recognized local Irish Setter Clubs or other organized rescue groups and may need financial support for extraordinary expenses. The Rescue Fund is available to provide financial assistance to these groups for such extraordinary expenses.

The Rescue Funds are not eligible for general rescue operation expenses but are to be utilized for specific Irish Setters under the care of organized rescue programs of local Irish Setter clubs or other organized rescue groups. The funds are for extraordinary expenses. Groups are to monitor their requests with this in mind.

Grants may be awarded to local Irish Setter club rescue programs and other organized rescue groups. To be eligible for a grant the rescue organization must receive prior approval of Irish Setter Club of America Rescue Committee before the Foundation will consider the grant request. Grants will not be made to individuals but only to organized rescue programs.

Emergency Grants

The Foundation will provide emergency funds to ISCA members for emergency assistance needed for their Irish Setters suffering as a direct result of certain federally declared disasters. In general, information needed to determine eligibility include date and location of the disaster, name of Irish Setter affected and description of the need. Specific requirement details are available upon request from the Foundation Treasurer.
